Alan Hinkes meets Pro Trek
Alan Hinkes OBE meets Pro Trek

Alan Hinkes OBE is the first Briton to climb all 14 of the world’s highest mountains – each over 8000m high where human survival rate is measured in hours. They are the most dangerous mountains on the planet. Alan is part of an exclusive club of only 12 people alive who have achieved this feat; more people have stood on the moon. Alan was awarded the OBE in the 2006 New Year’s Honours and counts this among a host of accolades.
Extreme high altitude mountaineering with its combination of lack of oxygen, potentially deadly weather and dangers such as avalanche, take a huge amount of determination, skill and fitness, not to mention the very best equipment.

With its heritage in Intelligent Timing and Smart Design Pro Trek is designed to support adventurers such as Alan in the great outdoors. With common values and Alan’s specific requirements when climbing, Pro Trek and Alan form the ideal partnership for his upcoming challenge to scale the 39 highest peaks in the English shire counties in a timeframe never before attempted. The Pro Trek product and team will be supporting Alan at every stage of his challenge whilst also raising money for Mountain Rescue, a cause close to both Pro-Trek and Alan’s hearts.
