Boring Field - Huntingdonshire
See Alan's comments on this walk below. Huntingdonshire, Boring Field – Sunday 29th August Well, what do you know? Even arriving really late at night sees this place not fitting the description its name suggests. The highest point may be located at ‘Boring Field’, but don’t let the locals hear you say that… and you know what, it isn’t ‘boring’ at all. The highest point in Huntingdonshire is actually the lowest highest point in any county. Alan arrived at the old county of Huntingdonshire, which is no longer a county, just after 10pm. Iit was another high point via torch and moonlight. The sad part of this was that he missed many of the sights, such as the old church at Hargrave, which make walking around here really interesting. Even so, the high point mission was eventful. Parking up near some houses and close to the public footpath, Alan was on his way until his GPS system went on the blink. Luckily some very kind local residents were on hand to provide him with an Ordnance Survey map and the night time mission was back on. Old railyway heritage is located near the high point.
