Shropshire – Brown Clee Hill. Friday 3rd Sept

The highest point in Shropshire can be found at Brown Clee Hill – the next stop on the challenge for Alan. The highest point of the peak stands at 540 metres. Although the hill has quite a steep incline, a walk to the summit is pleasant enough. Follow the paths and you’ll have no problem in finding your way. On the way to the top you’ll be reminded of the history of the hills, as you’ll be able to see where mining once took place for coal and ironstone. You’ll also pass a memorial to World War II pilots who lost their lives when their planes crashed into the hillside.
