Essex – Chrishall Common.
High point twelve involved a hop, skip and a jump to Essex, not literally, but almost. Located very close to the high point of Cambridgeshire, the highest point of Essex can be found at Chrishall Common, close to the village of Langley.

As previously mentioned, a walk between the two county tops is indeed possible. Alan says: “Of course getting to the highest point of Essex doesn’t boast the same kind of challenge as say The Cheviot in Northumberland, but actually finding the highest point on this kind of surface, where there are hardly any variations in height, presents a whole kind of different challenge!”
