Silverhill Colliery, Nottinghamshire – Sun 29th August
The biggest task it seems for the Sunday session is the drives in between these smaller county tops. From Lincolnshire it’s to Nottinghamshire and to the village of Teversal near Mansfield.

Just after lunch Alan is joined by family members and a couple of friends and it’s a case of following the Silverhill Wood Walk. Maps and an abundance of local knowledge is available from the visitor centre, as is a really yummy tuna sarnie.

The trail is easy as you like and makes for a lovely family day out. Go through the stile and follow the track and it’s a case of reaching the highest point of 205 metres at your own leisure… just like Alan and his entourage.
