Old Man of Coniston – Lancashire. Saturday 4th September

So, for Alan this summit was done using a helicopter. Landing on the top, Alan had time for a few photographs before heading off to Helvellyn.

If you choose to walk up the 803 metres of Lancashire’s highest point then you’ll be able to follow a number of well worn paths to the summit. Old Man of Coniston has seen extensive slate mining action and the remains of these mines are a big draw for tourists coming to climb up it.
